Monthly Favourites - January

Hello lovely people!  This is my first favourites post for a while as a had a bit of a blogging break over Christmas and the New Year.  Over the past couple of days, the weather has been gorgeous and it has been so nice to get outside again for photos.

Face

I have a new-found love of the luxurious brand Kevyn Aucoin and the Celestial Powder in Candlelight is my favourite highlighter of the moment.  Its subtle, peach toned sheen is perfect for the cold Winter months.

Blusher is a make up item that I wear every day; without it my face just seems dull and flat.  This beauty, Springsheen from MAC, is one that I find myself reaching for more than any other.  It is a gorgeous peachy pink shade with a pearl/gold shimmer and is similar to Dainty Doll 004, Sleek Rose Gold and Nars Orgasm.

As I have oily skin, a good face powder is an absolute must for me.  I really like Voile Poudre Eclat from By Terry.  I have Radiant Beige and Nude Beige which covers all bases for me fake-tan wise.  The best part about it is the micro-fibre powder puff, far and away the best powder applicator I have ever used.

Eyes

I won the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette a while back in a giveaway by the lovely Zoe Lianne and have only recently realised just how wonderful it is!  I use it almost all the time, either for a simple look on its own or as a base for a more dramatic look on top.

I love this eye base from Laura Mercier (Eye Basics in Wheat).  It glides on smoothly and covers any imperfections on the eye area whilst helping eye shadow to last all day.  Colour-wise, it is similar to MAC's Painterly but slightly darker.

I had forgotten how much I love Bobbi Brown's Gel Eyeliner in Caviar Ink until I used it again recently.  It goes on so easily and can be used to create subtle definition or built-up for a striking look.

Hair

Believe the hype guys, Oribe's Dry Texturizing Spray really is as good as you've heard.  Just a few spritzes transforms my hair from flat and lifeless to zhoozhed and voluminous in an instant.  I only have the mini bottle as the full price is a massive £38 but honestly, unless I find an incredible dupe, I think I may end up forking out when this runs out!

My latest discovery from my all-time favourite hair care brand is the Hydromist Blow Out Spray.  This smells just as good as the Shine Spray and Treatment Oil and creates lasting volume when used before a blow dry.  This range has yet to put a foot wrong in my eyes!

Fragrance

It will come as no surprise that a beauty blogger chooses Diptyque's Philosykos as a favourite perfume!  This beautiful, fresh, rich fig delight has quickly become my most reached for fragrance this year.  Check out my full review here.

This gorgeous fruity, zesty candle (Life NK Grapefruit and Mandarin) has been brightening up my home through the miserable grey days of January.  My full review is here.

Food

Earlier this month, I had one of the best meals of my life at Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester.  The £120 tasting menu was worth every penny and I am in the process of summoning up the words to do it justice in a full review.

What have been your favourites over the past month?

Have you tried any of my favourites?  What do you think?

    1. Thanks! It's really useful - nothing breathtakingly beautiful like in the other Naked palettes but a great range of basic shades (does as it says on the tin!).

    1. Thanks! The Oribe really is so good! If you go into Space NK they have testers so you can try it out - be warned, you will want it as soon as you try it!
