Saturday Scents - Life NK Mandarin and Grapefruit Candle

I absolutely adore scented candles but find it so hard to actual burn them if they were expensive - literally seeing your hard earned cash going up in flames - and often leave my higher end ones looking pretty in their jars. So candles are one of my favourite things to buy in the sales and I snapped up a few with 50% off in the Space NK sale.

This is my favourite from this year's haul - the Life NK Mandarin and Grapefruit, which is currently still available full price on the Space NK website (in slightly different packaging I think).

I already have a couple of Life NK candles and they are some of the best I own in terms of scent payoff, filling the room with fragrance after just a short burn time, meaning that the candle lasts longer too, bonus!  The glass jar is simple and clean, though I don't love the orange logo.   It can just be turned round though if you prefer a simple white look.

This candle smells absolutely delicious.  It is sweet and citrusy without entering 'bathroom cleaner' or 'mosquito repellent' territory that is so easy in that category.  Because it is also infused with gardenia, tiare blossom and water lily, it has complex floral notes that add that an extra dimension to the fruity zinginess.

Currently, this candle lives on the windowsill in the hallway and I have a good sniff whenever I walk past.  Gorgeous!

Almost, but not quite, beats Jo Malone in terms of scent; excellent scent pay off and a total bargain!
