Things I've Learned from Blogging

1.  Some people will always hate...
This comes mainly from Guru Gossiper.  Having a flick through the many, many comments has shown me that even the biggest, best bloggers and You Tubers have people who really dislike them.  The girls who I LOVE to watch annoy some people soo much.  In the words of Chipmunk, "Opinions aren't facts, take them in and let them go".   Realising this has helped my self-confidence - whoever you are, you can never please everyone all the time.

2.  It doesn't matter if you can't blog all the time...
Some amazing bloggers post every day.  Some post once a week or even less.  How many times they post doesn't sway my enjoyment of them.  Personally, I would love to be able to post more but I simply can't fit it around everything else so I do it when I can.  It works for me and it means that I can enjoy blogging without it taking over or becoming a chore.  I'm sure I would have more readers if I posted more but it just wouldn't work for me at this point.

3. Blogging takes time...
When I started my blog, I didn't realise just how much time each post would take.  Choosing what to blog about; writing and proof-reading; setting up backgrounds; taking, editing and arranging photos; formatting and rearranging layout; reading and replying to comments - the list goes on!  As in point 2, I've learned to fit this around the rest of my life even though I wish I could do more.

4. I love having a purpose...
I don't mean in an existential, deep and meaningful way; I just enjoy having another hobby, something to work towards that is tangible.  I feel proud looking through my posts and seeing how they have developed since I started.  I love learning new technical skills; whether it is using photo editing software, HTML code or camera settings, I now have a reason to find this stuff out.

5. Bloggers are lovely...
I have not yet met any bloggers in 'real-life' but I 'speak' to loads - either through #bbloggers or (my new fave) #30sbloggers chats, via comments on mine or their blogs, or on WhatsApp (PLL girlies!).  I'm so pleased to have a new-found community with shared passions - beauty, make-up, cupcakes, various TV shows - who I hope one day to meet for real!
Special mention to these lovely bloggers!

  4. Beauty blogs have helped me a lot to choose the right product and I can see how it looks before buying it.
